what a night

It was indeed a very unexpected Thursday night at the Glendon camp for myself. I was watching Lost In Translation in my room and I feel somewhat encouraged to go to pub so I gell my hair and change my shirt and head down there by myself not having the slighest expectations for what was going to transpire that night. Tonight was one of those bachelor auctions for charity, and I made a promise to a friend that I would bid on one of her friends (not that she needed the help) so I ended up winning that bid by quite a large sum (lets just say more than any other person on the auction block) I guess I got lost in the moment. Then after winning my tall blonde of a prize, a short redhead whom I have a slight acquaintance with comes up to me and asks if I have MSN to which I reply yes and so I give it to her later in the evening. And we share a small dance with each other. Later I go back to the dorms and talk about nothing for a few hours, and at about 10 to 5 I stumble into my room and fall asleep. And that was my Thursday night

I don't know

There are too many unanswered questions in life. Who are we? What is our identity? And what is our purpose in life? What is society? And where do we stand between all of that? I have been asking myself these questions for some time now and although I haven't reached an answer to these questions I have learned quite a bit about myself in the process. I have also spent a lot of time just thinking just what is the notion of society and where I fit in. I have always looked to find a place among my peers but I never seem to know where that is. All I know is that I want to fit in with people and be appreciated for my ideas, and I just want to be involved in the lives of others. I just want to find my niche, and its difficult doing that after letting yourself stagnate socially for many years. You just find yourself wishing you could just fix it by grabbing a guide or someone just telling you exactly what you have to do but that's never going to happen. There are some things in life that just can't be taught. There are also some other things in life that you just have to learn through experience and that's a really challenging thing, and that's hard because its instinct to keep yourself from getting hurt whether that is physiological or psychological there are some things you just can't avoid from happening in life. Another things is control, there are moments in life where it seems like you are completely powerless in life and it's very frustrating. Your life will seem just chaotic and you wish that you could get a sort of order from that but it never goes your way. But as long as we are all able bodied and willing to keep going in life to persue the things we want out of life there will always be a chance for things to turn out for the better.

Some food for thought...

Here's an interesting page I found. Its basically part of an article written by a political scientist named Dr. Lawrence Britt. Apparently he did research into fascist states of Hitler, Mussolini, Franco, Suharto, and Pinochet and found 14 common traits in these countries. I originally found this on another page and was surprised to find how true this applied to the United States so I did a google search to fact check this guy and found this page with examples that raised more eyebrows for me.

Election 2004

So the elections in the states have come and gone and president-re-elect bush has been declared the winner, and Ohio has replaced Florida's perch as the undecided state of the year. But I still feel like things might turn around just yet. Call me crazy the poling stations have long been closed by now but there are stil absentee, and provisional ballots still to be counted. You can also call me naiive in believing in this theory as well because according the previously discredited popular vote Bush is clearly the winner of that. But let me counter that with two things Washington Redskins lost the last home game before the election, and the Red Socks won their first world series in nearly 9 decades.
